Where to Elope in St. Augustine Florida

St. Augustine had so much history and character that I can guarantee you will find exactly what you are looking for to make your elopement feel like you!

Beach Elopement Locations

St. Augustine is surrounded by several beautiful beaches that are perfect for eloping, each offering its own unique charm. You can choose to elope just you and your partner or put together an intimate ceremony with your closest friends and family. Either way, there are a few thing you need to keep in mind when you choose to elope so lets talk about some of the details first.

When choosing to elope on the beaches of St. Augustine you are required to obtain a special use permit. These permits are anywhere from $100-$200 depending on your location. I am more than happy to do this process for you as I have for many other couples in the past, just ask to add this service to your package! If you want to do this on your own, you can get all the information here!

Timing: There is a lot that goes into what time of day you chose to elope but here are a some important things to keep in mind. The sun rises behind the water and sets on the opposite side of the water at most beaches. I highly suggest taking sunrise and/or sunset times into consideration when planning your portraits and ceremony timing, the sun can quickly become harsh if you are wanting golden hour creamy photos. As we start planning your elopement timeline, I will be sure to take all of this into consideration to create the vision you want for your photos.

Tides: Keep tides in mind because some beaches are completely covered during high tides and if you are wanting rocky beach shore lines, those too can be covered completely during high tides. You can check the tide levels here.

When getting married on the beached there are certain rules you have to follow for most beaches. No alcohol, fireworks, fires, loud music, glass, balloons, or sky lanterns.

Washington Oaks Gardens State Park

This park offers a unique blend of beautiful gardens and access to the Atlantic shoreline. With its scenic oak trees and lush landscaping, it provides a stunning backdrop for a romantic ceremony, allowing couples to choose between a garden setting or a beachside experience. They do have rules about wedding at the park and you can find all that information here, but after your ceremony concludes, we can take photos throughout the entire park.

Located directly across the street is their beach access with beautiful coquina rocks that present them selves beautifully during low tide.

Crescent Beach

Known for its serene ambiance, Crescent Beach offers a quieter option for couples. The natural beauty and stunning coastal views make it an ideal spot for an intimate ceremony. There is a stretch of beach where you can drive but you must have a 4×4 vehicle.

Anastasia State Park

This park features miles of unspoiled shoreline, with beautiful landscapes and lush vegetation. It provides a more secluded environment, perfect for those seeking privacy in their elopement. You can check out more about eloping at Anastasia State Park here or by calling 904-461-2002 for more information.

Just north of the historic district, Vilano Beach is a charming spot with a laid-back vibe. The scenic views and access to nearby dunes create a romantic setting for exchanging vows. Vilano beach also has a rocky shore line on the south end, Porpoise Point Beach, that makes some beautiful portraits.
